On further thought, I consider this, if not a bug then at least unfriendly
behaviour that should be fixed, allowing for the possibility of a forced
exit without save.

That is easily fixed.
I still think that the generic-command action should be retired. That would
also solve the problem of lack of documentation. Why this additional interface
to a small subset of actions with perhaps minor differences, which must be
maintained and documented?
